In pursuance of Prime Minister’s campaign on ‘Plant for Pakistan’, National Highways and Motorway Police organized a mega plantation event at NH&MP Lines HQs Islamabad. The Minister of State for Communications Mr. Murad Saeed graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Whereas the event was attended by officers from various departments, Diplomats and foreign delegates, representatives of NGOs and civil society, however, the cornerstone comprised students from public, private, religious and special schools. This activity was an effort to inculcate the importance of planting trees in young minds. While addressing participants of the event, the Chief Guest emphasized on the importance of planting trees. He appreciated equal representation of institutions of all kinds in sapling plantation activity. He lauded the contribution of Motorway Police in Plant for Pakistan campaign and expressed profound appreciation to the IG NH&MP. The Inspector General NH&MP emphasized on the need for individual as well as collective efforts for Greener Pakistan. He told the participants that NH&MP has planted 50,000 saplings in one week across the country and NH&MP aims to plant 200,000 saplings in next 70 days. The Chief Guest was presented with a unique souvenir in the shape of a natural plant. In endorsement to the campaign, the Chief Guest along with delegates and students planted hundreds of saplings at the NH&MP Headquarters.
