Speech of Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema at Punjab University Lahore

The future of Pakistan is very bright but we should do away with corruption and sense of inferiority complex. We have to restore link with education. Till the time we were associated with education, we remained at zenith of glory. The Inspector General, NH&MP, Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema expressed these view during his address to the students of Punjab University, Lahore. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr.Mujahid Kamaran and SSP Muhammad Inksar Khan were also present on the occasion.

The IG said that even Allama Iqbal had exhorted Muslims to excel in the education. The toughest target can be achieved if the head of institution is upright, has firm determination and all departments can be reformed thereafter.

Zulfiqar Ahamd Cheema said the amount of resources that are bestowed by Allah to our country is enough to bring us at par within top ten nations of the world.    He advised the students that the fortunes of the nation are hidden in libraries and laboratories. He further said Punjab University should again be a breeding ground to produce such greats like IbneSina, Iqbal, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and Abdul Salam. The Pakistanis should be proud of founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal.  Backwardness and poverty cannot be our fate because our nation is destined for greater glory.

IG Zulfiqar Cheema said we will have to come out of sense of inferiority complex and should be proud of our traditions and culture.  The Corruption is one of the top enemy of Pakistan and it’s a need to recognize because if it is controlled all departments can be transformed well.   He also narrated many events in order to infuse patriotism among students.  He asked the students to abide by the traffic rules, should fasten seat belts and don’t use mobile phone while driving. Later on gifts were distributed among students for giving correct answer during a Quiz on traffic rules. The VC DrMujhaid Kamran thanked Inspector General for delivering a thought provoking lecture on traffic rules and patriotism, and advised  the students to read out the book written by the Inspector General ,namely  “DO TOOK BATEN “.
