The Minister for Communications Dr. Hafiz Abdul Karim has said that the Motorway Police is the only department which has achieved the objectives given by the government and is maintaining such high standards of policing through courtesy and strict enforcement of law. He said that the professional excellence of NH&MP is unquestionable and they are moving towards the right direction. He said that the government must strengthen and support all legal actions taken by the motorway police in equal application of law. National Highways and Motorways is an eminent institute. All the staff, officers and squad worked tirelessly to help and facilitate the people facing traffic related issues and problems, thus won the hearts of the people. These all efforts are a ray of hope in the darkness of hopelessness”. These were the thoughts shared by the Federal Minister for Communications Dr. Hafiz Abdul Karim on the occasion of NH&MP Road Safety Training Institute newly constructed building inauguration ceremony held Islamabad. The Chairman National Highway Authority Mr. Shahid Ashraf Tarrar, Additional Secretary Communications Mr. Tashfeen Khan, Inspector General National Highways and Motorways Police Dr Syed Kaleem imam, MH&MP Zonal Commanders, Sector Commanders, retired IGPs’, Bureaucrats and the officials of Motorway Police have attended the ceremony. In his Welcome address IGP gave the briefing that the building started firstly on 11th June 2015 and it will be comprised of four floors and will be a state of the art building. While briefing Dr. Syed kaleem imam highlighted some problem areas but showed firmed resolution to overcome those shortcomings before the completion of CPEC such as manpower, especial allowance, medical policy approval, 461 vehicles are out of order to be replaced, housing society for the officers and employees of Highways and Motorway Police, APOs and JPOs up gradation and to overcome some other concerns. Federal Minister was requested to help and guide in above mentioned issues and concerns. NH&MP Officers and all the staff worked day and night with zeal and zest, so their problems and concerns are to be sorted out to give them more of motivation and dedication. While addressing the ceremony the Federal Minister assured that all possible help and assistance will be provided. Before the addressing to the participants of the ceremony the Federal Minister for Communications inaugurated the new building of Motorway Police Road Safety Training Institute In the end IG, NH&MP Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam presented a shield to the Minister for Communications Dr. Hafiz Abdul Karim.
