National Highways and Motorway Police and Islamabad Police have organized a T-20 cricket match between Police-XI and Fayyaz Sumbal Foundation-XI to pay tribute to Pakistan Police martyrs at Shalimar Cricket Ground F-6, Islamabad. Senator, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar was the chief Guest of the Match.
After winning the toss the Police-XI team scored 166 for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs against Fayyaz Sumbal Foundation-XI. Police-XI batsman Inspector General National Highways and Motorway Police Dr. Syed kaleem Imam scored 31, DIG (HQ) NH&MP Ishfaq Ahmed cored 28 and SSP Islamabad Police Zubair Ahmed Sheiakh scored 26. Fayyaz Sumbal Foundation-XI bowler Jamie and Elliot took one wicket each. On the other hand Fayyaz Sumbal Foundation-XI cricket team chased score in last over for the lost of 06 wickets. 52 runs made by Fayyaz Sumbal Foundation-XI batsman Marzio and received man of the match award. chief guest Senator, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar distributed Souvenirs among the players. The match was attended by, DIGs and SSPs of NH&MP and Islamabad Police, Sector Commanders of NH&MP, President Daewoo International, Mr. Y.H. Lee, Chairman Islamabad Daewoo Terminal Rana Anwar, Shuhada’s Police families, civil society members, Media persons, Pakistan cricket team bowler Shoaib Akhtar other senior officers of Motorway Police and distinguished guests. On this occasion Senator, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said that the National Highways and Motorway Police and Islamabad Police did very good job to organize T-Twenty Match to pay tribute to the Police martyrs of Pakistan. He saluted the martyrs of Police of Pakistan and their brave families and said their sacrifices shall not go to waste. He said that the death of martyr is the life of the nation. National Highways and Motorway Police is the best institution of Pakistan. On this occasion IG, NH&MP Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam said that 7000 officials of Police of Pakistan accepted martyrdom in Pakistan. IG, NH&MP further said that we really grateful to Australian serving and retired AFP members to come the way from Australia to play cricket matched in honour of Police Martyrs of Pakistan. The country as well as the NHMP is proud of martyrs of Police of Pakistan. Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam presented a shield to Senator, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar.
