IG, NHMP HOLDS LIVE ONLINE KHULI KACHEHRI ON FM-95 AND OFFICIAL FACEBOOK PAGE.

The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) is organizing a monthly live online Khuli Kachehri to ensure timely resolution of issues faced by the public and employees and to promote direct engagement. In this connection, Inspector General NHMP, Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, participated in a live online session broadcast through FM-95 Radio and the official NHMP Facebook page. During the session, the IG Motorway Police attentively listened to complaints, concerns, and suggestions from citizens and employees through live calls. He issued clear instructions to the concerned officers for their prompt and effective resolution. Appreciating the constructive feedback from the public, he stated that public opinion plays a vital role in institutional improvement. The IG urged citizens to strictly comply with traffic laws and to avoid driving while drowsy. He emphasized that ensuring public safety, providing timely assistance, and maintaining uninterrupted traffic flow remain top priorities. During the holy month of Ramadan, additional personnel have been deployed on busy highways during Sehri and Iftar hours. Furthermore, the scope of road safety briefings and awareness campaigns has been expanded to enhance public awareness regarding road safety. To ensure the timely issuance of driving licenses, the establishment of Driving Licensing Authorities in major cities is underway, while modern systems are being introduced in operational matters. The IG made it clear that careless or inappropriate behavior towards citizens will not be tolerated. He also highlighted measures taken for employees’ welfare, medical facilities, departmental promotions, training initiatives, and addressing manpower shortages. He reiterated that the fundamental mission of the National Highways and Motorway Police is to serve the public, ensure safer highways, and maintain smooth and uninterrupted traffic flow by utilizing all available resources. NHMP SETS AN EXAMPLE OF HONESTY BY RECOVERING AND RETURNING A LOST BAG CONTAINING RS. 5.3 MILLION TO ITS OWNER

The National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) demonstrated exemplary honesty and professional responsibility by safely recovering and returning a bag containing Rs. 5.3 million in cash to its rightful owner. According to details, a passenger accidentally left behind a bag filled with Rs. 5.3 million at the Kallar Kahar Service Area on Motorway (M-2) and continued his journey toward his destination. After traveling several kilometers, he realized the bag was missing and immediately informed a nearby Motorway Police patrolling vehicle. Responding promptly, the Motorway Police alerted the nearest patrol team. The concerned team, guided by the passenger through mobile communication and video call, initiated a thorough search operation at the service area. Owing to swift and effective action, the bag containing the cash was successfully recovered and personally delivered back to the passenger. Overwhelmed by the dramatic recovery, the passenger expressed heartfelt gratitude and highly appreciated the honesty and professionalism of the Motorway Police.

IG MOTORWAY POLICE CHAIRS MONTHLY REGIONAL CONFERENCE OF NHMP

Inspector General, National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP), Mr. Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, chaired the monthly Regional Conference of the NHMP. The conference was attended by Additional Inspectors General and Deputy Inspectors General from various zones across the country. During the conference, a comprehensive review of the overall performance of all zones nationwide was conducted, along with a detailed assessment of key operational matters and strategies. Addressing the participants, IG Motorway Police Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry directed that traffic laws on national highways and motorways must be enforced effectively and without discrimination under all circumstances. He emphasized that the timely provision of assistance and facilitation to road users is a fundamental responsibility of the department. He further directed that prompt response in any emergency situation must be ensured, as service and assistance remain the hallmark of the Motorway Police. The Motorway Police Helpline 130 should be further strengthened to ensure public convenience and timely assistance. The IG directed officers to maintain courteous behavior with commuters and to further enhance the institution’s positive image through their professional conduct. Stressing the importance of effective patrolling and proactive operational activities, he instructed that strict implementation of traffic laws must be ensured to further reduce the rate of accidents. IG Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry also directed that the scope of road safety briefings and public awareness campaigns be expanded to promote compliance with traffic laws as a shared social responsibility. He reiterated that the protection of life and property of citizens is the foremost priority of the National Highways & Motorway Police, and all available resources must be utilized to achieve this objective. The IG instructed all officers and officials to strictly adhere to the core values of the organization courtesy, integrity, transparency, and professionalism and to further strengthen public trust through their conduct. Furthermore, the IG directed senior officers to remain in continuous contact with their subordinate staff and to address legitimate issues of employees on a priority basis.

IG NHMP SULTAN AHMED CHAUDHRY CONDUCTS SURPRISE VISIT TO MOTORWAY M-1 AND GT ROAD.

Inspector General of National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP), Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, paid a surprise visit to Motorway M-1 and (GT Road) N-5 (North) to review field operations, traffic management, and the facilities being provided to road users. The IG NHMP inspected various duty points during the visit and assessed the performance of officers and personnel deployed on the ground. He also received detailed briefings from field officers regarding their duties and sought their suggestions for further improvement in operational efficiency.  During the visit, IG Motorway Police issued important directions to the officers, emphasizing that ensuring safe and comfortable travel for the public is the top priority of the Motorway Police. He directed that prompt assistance must be provided to road users, strict enforcement of traffic laws be ensured, and the rule of law be applied without any discrimination.  IG NHMP Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry further stated that every officer and official of the Motorway Police must perform their duties with a spirit of public service and utilize their professional skills to further strengthen public trust and confidence in the institution.

NHMP EXPRESSES SOLIDARITY WITH THE KASHMIRI PEOPLE ON KASHMIR SOLIDARITY DAY

The National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) expressed strong solidarity with the oppressed people of Kashmir on 5th February, Kashmir Solidarity Day. In this regard, special events were organized across all zones, sectors, and offices of the Motorway Police to reaffirm support for the legitimate struggle for freedom of the Kashmiri people and to demonstrate practical solidarity with them. On this occasion, special banners and posters bearing Kashmir-related slogans were displayed at toll plazas, interchanges, and key locations along motorways and national highways throughout Pakistan. Through these displays, a clear message of unity with the Kashmiri people was conveyed, while heartfelt tributes were paid to the Kashmiri martyrs. Special prayers were also offered for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and for the early freedom of the Kashmiri people. Awareness stalls were also set up to educate citizens and distribute informational material. Furthermore, special solidarity walks were organized at various locations in which a large number of Motorway Police officers, personnel, and citizens participated. These walks conveyed a strong and clear message of unwavering support for the Kashmiri people and their just struggle for freedom.

UT ASPs OF 28TH INITIAL COMMAND COURSE VISIT NHMP CENTRAL POLICE OFFICE.

The Under Training Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) of the 52nd Specialized Training Program of the 28th Initial Command Course visited the Central Police Office of the National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP). On this occasion, Deputy Inspector General (Operations) Masroor Alam Kolachi gave a detailed briefing to the UT ASPs on the professional performance, role, and organizational structure of the NHMP. Addressing the UT ASPs, Inspector General of NHMP, Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, stated that the police service is a dignified and highly important profession, as the protection of life and property of the public is the fundamental responsibility of the police. He emphasized that the officers are fortunate to have chosen policing as a career and must discharge their duties diligently, ensuring the safety and security of the public under all circumstances. He added that public service, supremacy of law, and delivery of justice are the core principles of police service. The IG, NHMP advised the UT ASPs to always prioritize integrity, discipline, and professional competence throughout their careers. He further stressed that trainee officers should understand the requirements of modern policing, continuously enhance their professional skills, and make effective use of technology to provide improved services to the public.  The IG stated that the mission of the National Highways & Motorway Police is to ensure the safety of travellers on motorways and national highways by maintaining high professional standards and providing timely assistance in difficult situations. He noted that NHMP has earned public trust by promoting a culture of courtesy and on-road assistance. He further remarked that the performance of the Motorway Police is a source of pride for the entire nation, and that honesty, good conduct, and a spirit of service are the key drivers of positive change in any institution of which NHMP is a prime example.  During the visit, the UT ASPs also visit the Command and Control Centre and briefed on the operations of the 130 Helpline. Subsequently, they visited the Motorway Main Toll Plaza, where they received a detailed briefing on the Public Service Vehicle Management Information System. AT the end, the UT ASPs also visited the NHMP North Region Sector Office at Khairabad.

IG NHMP SULTAN AHMED CHAUDHRY HOLDS LIVE E-KHULI KATCHERY ON FM-95 RADIO

In order to ensure direct engagement with the public and timely resolution of issues faced by citizens and employees, the National Highways & Motorway Police is regularly organizing monthly Live E-Khuli Katcheries. In continuation of this initiative, Inspector General, Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, participated in a Live E-Khuli Katchery broadcast through FM-95 Radio and the official NHMP Facebook page. During the session, the Inspector General listened attentively to live calls from citizens and NHMP employees and issued clear directions to the concerned officers for immediate and effective redressal of the issues raised. He stated that the foremost priority of the National Highways & Motorway Police is to provide timely assistance to road users and to make travel safe, smooth, and convenient. The Inspector General reaffirmed that there will be no compromise on the safety of commuters, protection of life and property, prompt assistance, and indiscriminate enforcement of the law on national highways and motorways. Appreciating the constructive suggestions shared by citizens during the E-Khuli Katchery, the IG NHMP remarked that public feedback plays a vital role in institutional improvement. IG, NHMP, REVIEWS ARRANGEMENTS ON MURREE EXPRESSWAY AHEAD OF SEVERE WEATHER

Inspector General of National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP), Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, conducted a detailed visit of the Murree Expressway (IMDC) in view of the severe weather and potential snowfall. The DIG Headquarters accompanied him during the visit. During the visit, the IG was briefed by DIG North Zone at the Sector Office Phoolgaran on the overall situation of the Murree Expressway, traffic flow, personnel deployment, security measures, and arrangements made in anticipation of adverse weather conditions. The briefing highlighted that, considering passenger safety and the expected increase in traffic, proactive and effective measures had been implemented to manage the challenging weather. Additional personnel were deployed due to potential snowfall, and heavy machinery and essential logistical resources were provided on time along the expressway. All necessary measures have been taken to ensure smooth traffic flow and provide guidance and assistance to travelers during snowfall. Due to the severe weather conditions and possibility of heavy snow, NHMP officers and staff remain on high alert.  Speaking on the occasion, IG NHMP Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry emphasized that passenger safety and timely assistance remain the top priority, and the Motorway Police are fully prepared to handle any emergency situation. THE INSPECTOR GENERAL, NHMP, PINNED THE RANKS ON THE NEWLY PROMOTED INSPECTORS.

A rank-wearing ceremony for officers recently promoted from Sub-Inspector to Inspector in the National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) was held at the Hamaid Shakeel Auditorium, NHMP Lines Headquarter Islamabad. The ceremony was organized in pursuance of the decisions of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC). Inspector General National Highways & Motorway Police, Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. At the beginning of the ceremony, a special prayer was offered for the martyrs. The DIG Headquarters, Afzal Ahmed Kausar, delivered the welcome address. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Inspectors General, Senior Superintendents of Police, promoted Inspectors along with their families, and other senior officers and officials. The IG NHMP personally pinned the ranks on the newly promoted Inspectors, with their families present, and extended his congratulations. Addressing the gathering, Inspector General NHMP stated that promotions are recognition of officers’ hard work, dedication, and outstanding professional performance. He expressed confidence that the promoted officers would continue to perform their duties with integrity, professionalism, and a strong spirit of public service, thereby further enhancing the reputation of the organization.  The IG NHMP emphasized that promotion in service is an important milestone which brings increased responsibilities and higher expectations in serving the public. He expressed hope that the promoted officers would, through effective strategies and professional competence, contribute further towards improving traffic discipline and the quality of public facilitation. Highlighting the importance of capacity building, the Inspector General stated that training plays a fundamental role in the success of any organization, and NHMP accords top priority to providing modern and quality training to its officers. He informed that the promoted officers belong to Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and Punjab. The IG NHMP further noted that the good reputation of the Motorway Police is the result of courteous behaviour, impartial enforcement of the law, and timely assistance to road users. 65 OFFICERS OF THE MOTORWAY POLICE HAVE BEEN PROMOTED TO THE NEXT HIGHER RANKS.

A meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) of the National Highways & Motorway Police was held at the Central Police Office, Islamabad, under the chairmanship of the Deputy Inspector General (Human Resource Management). During the meeting, promotions of 65 officers to the next higher ranks were approved. The promotions were formally endorsed by the Inspector General of National Highways & Motorway Police, Sultan Ahmed ChaudhryAs a result of the meeting, 54 Sub-Inspectors/Patrol Officers (BS-14) were promoted to the rank of Inspector (BS-16), while 11 Inspectors (BS-16) were granted promotion to the Higher Time Scale (BS-17). The promotion process was carried out strictly in accordance with the prescribed rules, seniority, and merit. Congratulating the promoted officers, Inspector General Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry stated that these promotions are recognition of the officers’ hard work, dedication, and professional performance. He expressed confidence that the promoted officers would continue to discharge their duties with honesty, responsibility, and professional competence in the future as well. Inspector General further remarked that promotion in service is an important milestone that brings greater responsibilities. IG NHMP REWARDS OFFICERS FOR FOILING SMUGGLING ATTEMPT ON M-2

Inspector General, National Highways & Motorway Police, Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, presented cash awards and commendation certificates to NHMP officers at the Central Police Office in recognition of their professional skill and dedication in preventing the smuggling of non-custom-paid cloth worth approximately PKR 10 million and apprehending the suspect.  According to details, NHMP officers DSP Muhammad Nawaz, Inspector Ayaz Khan, Sub-Inspector Ejaz Ahmed, and Sub-Inspector Kamran Latif acting on a secret tip-off, pursued a Shehzore pickup near Sial Mor on Motorway (M-2). Demonstrating exemplary professionalism and courage, the officers successfully intercepted the vehicle. During search of the pickup recovered the non-custom-paid cloth. The driver was immediately arrested. The seized cloth, along with the arrested suspect, was handed over to Customs authorities for further action.  Speaking on the occasion, Inspector General Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry lauded the officers for their outstanding performance and bravery. He reaffirmed NHMP’s commitment to ensuring the safety of passengers on national highways and motorways, combating crime, and preventing illegal activities through close coordination with other law enforcement agencies across the country.

IG, NHMP, SULTAN AHMED CHAUDHRY, PRESIDING OVER AN IMPORTANT OPERATIONAL MEETING.

An important operational meeting of the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) was held under the chairmanship of Inspector General Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, with the participation of all Additional Inspectors General and Deputy Inspectors General. During the meeting, the overall performance of all zones and key operational matters were reviewed in detail. Addressing the meeting, the IG Motorway Police directed that strict enforcement of the law on national highways and motorways must be ensured. He emphasized the optimal use of available resources to provide timely assistance to travellers, prevent traffic accidents, and eliminate crime. While instructing that patrolling and other operational activities are made more effective, the IG highlighted that the safety of citizens’ lives and property remains the foremost priority of the National Highways and Motorway Police. The IG urged all officers to strictly adhere to the organization’s core principles of courtesy, integrity, and professionalism. He further directed senior officers to maintain continuous contact with their subordinate staff and to address employees’ legitimate concerns and demands promptly. Additionally, the IG stressed the importance of immediate and effective measures to ensure the safe flow of traffic during foggy conditions. He clarified that temporary motorway closures during fog are not intended to inconvenience the public but are implemented solely in the interest of public safety. THE IG, NHMP, SULTAN AHMED CHAUDHRY, PAID VISIT TO THE MOTORWAY (M-1) AND SWAT EXPRESSWAY.

The Inspector General of the National Highways and Motorway Police, Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, paid visit to the Motorway (M-1) and Swat Expressway. On this occasion, the DIG Headquarters and the DIG Motorway North Zone were also accompanying him. During the visit, the Inspector General was given a detailed briefing at the Sector Office Swabi regarding the overall situation of the Motorway (M-1) and Swat Expressway, traffic flow, safety measures, and arrangements made in view of prevailing weather conditions. The briefing also covered the safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) adopted during foggy conditions and low visibility. On the occasion, Inspector General Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry issued directives to the officers, emphasizing that all possible facilities should be provided to commuters traveling on national highways and motorways, and that timely assistance must be ensured in any emergency situation. He clearly instructed that during foggy conditions, additional personnel should be deployed, effective patrolling should be carried out, public awareness campaigns should be intensified, and all other necessary measures should be implemented promptly to ensure safe traffic flow. The Inspector General further stated that the temporary closure of motorways is not intended to inconvenience the public, but rather to prevent accidents and to safeguard the lives and property of motorway users. He reaffirmed the commitment of the National Highways and Motorway Police to remain fully alert and vigilant at all times to ensure public safety, convenience, and safe travel.

NHMP ISSUED THEIR PERFORMANCE REPORT 2025, HIGHLIGHTING KEY ACHIEVEMENTS AND INITIATIVES.

The National Highways and Motorway Police have issued their performance report for the year 2025. According to the report, more than 18,000 travelers received emergency assistance and timely medical aid. Over 5.4 million people were guided through the toll-free helpline 130. Additionally, 18,500 driving licenses, 103 CE-category licenses, and 1,480 international driving permits were issued. A total of 2,674 road safety programs were conducted to raise public awareness about safe driving practices. During travel, lost valuables—including gold jewelry, 186 mobile phones, 48 wallets, and 331 other items—were recovered and returned to their rightful owners. Furthermore, 48 stolen and 17 non-custom-paid vehicles were recovered and handed over to the relevant authorities and owners. A total of 169 missing children were safely reunited with their families. Seventy dangerous criminals were apprehended and handed over to the respective district police. Confiscated items included 29 illegal weapons, 1,349 rounds of ammunition, 309 kilograms of narcotics, 2,450 liters of alcohol, and over 10,000 cartons of non-custom-paid cigarettes, all delivered to the relevant law enforcement agencies. Seven smuggling attempts and six robbery incidents were successfully foiled. Over 13.2 million challans were issued for traffic violations. During a focused campaign against serious traffic violations and overspeeding, FIRs were registered against more than 11,000 drivers. In total, 690 traffic accidents were reported, including 349 fatal and 341 non-fatal incidents. The Motorway Police’s social media team, along with FM-95 Radio, continues to keep citizens informed about road safety and traffic conditions. Monthly open courts (Khuli Katcheries) are also held to address citizens’ grievances directly. These initiatives underscore that the Motorway Police not only enforce the law impartially but also maintain the highest standards of public service without discrimination. Ensuring safe and dignified travel for all citizens remains the top priority, and the force remains committed to this goal, working tirelessly day and night.

IG NHMP, SULTAN AHMED CHAUDHARY VISITS CENTRAL REGION AND TRAINING COLLEGE.

Inspector General, National Highways & Motorway Police, Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry, visited the Central Region Office at Babu Sabu, Lahore, and the Motorway Police Training College, Sheikhupura.  The visit aimed to review the operational performance of the Central Region, as well as training programs and academic standards at the Training College. During the visit, Additional IG Central Region, Saad Akhtar Bharwana, briefed the Inspector General on the overall performance, administrative matters, and ongoing initiatives of the Central Region. The visit was attended by Zonal Commander DIG Dar Ali Khattak, Commandant Training College DIG Asim Gulzar, DIG Imran Shahid, and Sector Commanders of the Motorway Police. IG Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry paid tribute at the Martyrs’ Memorial, offered Fateha, and laid a floral wreath. A Guard of Honour was also presented to him. The Inspector General visited classrooms and training facilities at the Training College, reviewed academic and professional training standards, and issued directives for further improvement of the training system. He also interacted with trainee officers and personnel, listened to their concerns, and emphasized the importance of modern, professional, and practical training. IG Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry visited the Driving Licensing Authority to monitor the licensing process and inspected ongoing development projects at the Training College. The IG also chaired a meeting of all zones of the Central Region, attended by Additional IG Saad Akhtar Bharwana, DIG Dar Ali Khattak, DIG Asim Gulzar, and DIG Imran Shahid. During the meeting, Zonal Commanders presented zone-wise briefings on performance, challenges, and future plans.

The National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) regularly organizes live E-Khuli Katcheries on a monthly basis to strengthen public outreach and responsiveness. After assuming the office of Inspector General, IG Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry participated for the first time in a live E-Khuli Katchery broadcast simultaneously on FM-95 Radio and the official NHMP Facebook page. During the session, IG Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry listened to the concerns of citizens and employees through live calls and issued clear and prompt instructions to the concerned officers for immediate redressal. On the occasion, he emphasized that the foremost priority of the National Highways & Motorway Police is to provide timely assistance to the public and to ensure that travel remains safe and convenient. He reiterated that no compromise would be made on the safety of travelers or the provision of swift assistance on national highways and motorways. The Inspector General stated that, in terms of performance and professionalism, the Motorway Police enjoys a distinguished reputation at both national and international levels, and that leading such an exemplary force is a source of pride for him. Citizens also shared their valuable suggestions during the E-Khuli Katchery, which were appreciated by the IG. He further highlighted that effective policing and the dedicated efforts of NHMP officers have resulted in a significant reduction in traffic accidents on motorways and national highways. Before commencing their journeys, citizens were advised to obtain real-time road updates through Helpline 130 or the Motorway Police’s official social media handles @nhmp. The Inspector General described the E-Khuli Katchery as an effective, transparent, and efficient platform for direct public engagement, swift resolution of issues, and direct access to senior leadership. To further enhance public awareness, road safety education is being modernized in line with contemporary requirements. IG Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry also highlighted initiatives related to employee welfare, departmental promotions, and measures taken to address manpower shortages. He reaffirmed that the core mission of the National Highways & Motorway Police is to serve the public and ensure road safety, and that all available resources are being utilized to achieve this objective.

IG, NHMP, SULTAN AHMED CHAUDHRY, VISITED THE SOUTH ZONE KARACHI

Inspector General, National Highways & Motorway Police, Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, visited the South Zone Karachi. Upon his arrival at the Zonal Office Karachi, he was received by Additional IG South Region Munir Ahmed Sheikh and DIG South Zone Asghar Ali Yousafzai. On this occasion, a smartly turned-out contingent of the Motorway Police presented a guard of honor to the IG Motorway Police. During the visit, the IG National Highways & Motorway Police was given a detailed briefing on the operational matters of the South Zone. The IG appreciated the overall performance of the South Zone and directed that the rule of law be ensured in letter and spirit. The IG Motorway Police also planted a commemorative sapling in the premises of the Zonal Office. Subsequently, a meeting on important operational matters was held at the Zonal Office, during which the IG reiterated his commitment to establish driving license branches in the South Zone at the earliest. During the meeting, the DIG South Zone apprised the IG of the issues being faced in the implementation of the Axle Load Control Regime. The meeting was attended by the IG Motorway Police, Additional IG South Region, DIG South Zone, and all Sector Commanders.

IG, NHMP, SULTAN AHMED CHAUDHRY VISITED THE ADDITIONAL IG OFFICE, NORTH REGION.

Inspector General National Highways & Motorway Police, Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, visited the Additional IG Office, North Region. During the visit, IG Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry inspected the main toll plaza, where he was briefed on the checking of public service vehicles, operational performance, and the newly constructed Drivers Training School in Chakri.  Later, IG Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry chaired a meeting with senior officers at the North Region Office and addressed a session. The Inspector General directed that public service vehicle drivers should undergo annual medical examinations so that any health issues can be addressed in time. He stressed that an effective strategy is essential to ensure the safety of passengers on motorways. All available resources should be utilized to eliminate crime. He further emphasized the importance of honesty, good conduct, and timely assistance.

IG, NHMP, SULTAN AHMED CHAUDHRY, IS PRESIDING OVER A HIGH-LEVEL MEETING AT THE CENTRAL POLICE OFFICE, ISLAMABAD.

Inspector General National Highways & Motorway Police, Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, while presiding over a high-level meeting at the Central Police Office, said that he has recently assumed the command of this prestigious institution. He first paid tribute to the great sacrifices of the martyrs of the department, due to whom this department holds a position of pride today. He affirmed that the welfare and full support of the families of the martyrs will be ensured. The Inspector General said that despite harsh weather conditions, our officers and personnel are performing their duties on the national highways with hard work, honesty, and responsibility, which is truly commendable. On this occasion, he directed that all officers of the Motorway Police must strictly adhere to the organization’s core values of courtesy, integrity, and professionalism. All available resources should be utilized to ensure timely assistance to travelers on national highways, prevention of accidents, and elimination of crime. He further said that modern technology should be fully utilized to improve the department’s performance, and the indiscriminate and effective enforcement of laws on national highways must be ensured under all circumstances. The meeting also emphasized formulating a comprehensive and concrete strategy to address departmental challenges, including increasing manpower, promotions of officers, and welfare initiatives. He made it clear that corruption will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The Inspector General said that ensuring the safety of the lives and property of citizens traveling on national highways is our top priority. All officers of the National Highways & Motorway Police will, through mutual cooperation and teamwork, make this department stronger, more effective, and aligned with modern requirements. SULTAN AHMAD CHAUDHRY HAS ASSUMED CHARGE AS INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE, NATIONAL HIGHWAYS AND MOTORWAY POLICE .

Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry has formally taken over as Inspector General of the National Highways and Motorway Police. He previously served as Additional Inspector General of Police in Punjab. He brings extensive experience in policing and has held several important positions within the Pakistan Police Service. Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry is widely recognized in the police service for his professional competence, exemplary performance, and integrity. Upon his arrival at the Central Police Office (CPO) Islamabad, he was presented with a guard of honour. He was introduced to officers and given a detailed briefing on various departmental matters. The new Inspector General reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the institution, upholding high professional standards, and ensuring quality public service. He further emphasized that every possible measure will be taken for the welfare and well-being of the department’s officers and staff. In his address, he said that leading this institution is a matter of great pride for him an organization regarded not only in Pakistan but also internationally as a symbol of honesty, professionalism, and transparency. He added that the core values of the Motorway Police integrity, courtesy, and helpfulness are its true strength and will be upheld at all costs. The Inspector General directed officers to ensure timely assistance to travelers on national highways, protect the lives and property of citizens, and work diligently to prevent road accidents, noting that the National Highways and Motorway Police holds a distinguished position among national institutions. FAREWELL CEREMONY IN HONOR OF IG, NHMP, B.A. NASIR.

A farewell ceremony was held in honor of Inspector General National Highways & Motorway Police, B.A. Nasir, at the Central Police Office, Islamabad. IG B.A. Nasir is retiring after completing his service as Inspector General of Police. During his career, he served at various key positions in the Pakistan Police Department and rendered valuable services. The ceremony was attended by Additional Secretary Communications Sohail Habib Tajik, Additional Inspector General of Police NHMP, (North Region) Muhammad Wissal Fakhar Sultan, Additional Inspector General of Police NHMP, (Central Region) Saad Akhtar Bharwana, (DIG Headquarters) Muhammad Saleem, DIG (Operations) Masroor Alam Kalachi, DIG (HRM) Shahid Javed, zonal and sector commanders, as well as senior officers and officials. On this occasion, officers paid rich tribute to IG B.A. Nasir for his professional competence, leadership qualities, and his significant contributions toward strengthening the core values of the department. Additional IG Muhammad Wissal Fakhar Sultan and other senior officers said that working with IG B.A. Nasir was an honor and a matter of pride. Under his leadership, the Motorway Police successfully achieved several important milestones. Expressing gratitude to the Motorway Police for arranging the farewell ceremony, IG B.A. Nasir said that serving such a great department and retiring as its head is a matter of great honor for him. He added that it was his good fortune to lead a department known not only in Pakistan but across the world for its integrity and transparency. SPORTS PLAY A KEY ROLE IN SHAPING A POSITIVE DIRECTION FOR THE HUMAN MIND, IG BA NASIR

Martyrs are the crown of our pride.” These views were expressed by IG National Highways and Motorway Police, B.A. Nasir, while addressing the closing ceremony of the All Pakistan Motorway Police Sports Festival as the chief guest. He further said that martyrs are the crown of our pride, and that from now on, any inauguration of a specific place or building will be done by the families of the martyrs, not by any IG or other officer. While addressing the UT constables of the Motorway Police, he said that all recruitments have been made purely on merit, and advised them to perform their duties with hard work and honesty. He added, “A healthy body guarantees a healthy mind.” Sports play a key role in shaping a positive direction for the human mind and keeping any force active and alert. Congratulating Commandant/DIG Dr. Quresh Khan on the Training College becoming the All Pakistan Sports Champion, the IG presented him with the Champion’s Cup and expressed best wishes for the future. It is worth mentioning that under the hosting of Commandant/DIG Dr. Quresh Khan, the Training College Sheikhupura became the Sports Champion for the third time in the All Pakistan Motorway Police Sports Festival. This is no less than an honor for the Sheikhupura Training College. The Training College emerged victorious in cricket, tug of war, table tennis (male), table tennis (female), 2000m running race (male), and 400m race (female). THREE BRAVE OFFICERS OF THE MOTORWAY POLICE MARTYRED WHILE PERFORMING THEIR DUTY ON THE MOTORWAY.

Near Uch Sharif on Motorway M-5, while performing official duty, the Motorway Police patrolling vehicle was severely hit from behind by a Bilal Express passenger bus traveling from Karachi to Peshawar. As a result of this heartbreaking accident, all three officers on board were martyred on the spot, and the official vehicle was completely destroyed. The funeral prayers of the martyrs were offered at Punjab Police Lines Headquarters, Multan, which were attended by a large number of citizens as well as hundreds of officers and personnel from the Motorway Police and Punjab Police. Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, Inspector General National Highways & Motorway Police B.A. Nasir, Additional IG Central Region Saad Akhtar Bharwana, Additional IG South Punjab Muhammad Kamran Khan, DIG Motorway Central-2 Zone Dar Ali Khan Khattak, City Police Officer Multan Sadiq Ali Dogar, Commissioner Multan Division Aamir Karim Khan, all Sector Commanders and Beat Commanders of Motorway Central-2 Zone, officers of Motorway Police and Punjab Police, families of martyrs and a large number of people participated. The martyrs were presented with a guard of honour and sent to their final resting place with full official protocol. Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan and IG Motorway Police B.A. Nasir met the bereaved families, offered heartfelt condolences, and prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and patience for their families. The Federal Minister said that these brave sons sacrificed their lives for the protection of the nation; their great sacrifices will always be remembered and their families will be supported in every possible way. The IG Motorway Police said that the martyrs are our pride; their sacrifices will be written in golden words in the history of the Motorway Police, and the education, healthcare, and other needs of their children will be fully taken care of. The National Highways & Motorway Police expresses deep sympathy with the families of the martyrs and prays for the forgiveness of the departed souls.

TEN OFFICERS OF THE MOTORWAY POLICE HAVE BEEN PROMOTED TO THE NEXT RANKS.

Meetings of the Departmental Promotion Committees for the promotion of officers of the National Highways and Motorway Police were held at the Ministry of Communications and Central Police Office, Islamabad, under the chairmanship of Federal Secretary Communications, Ali sher Mehsud, and Deputy Inspector General (Human Resource Management), Shahid Javed. In these meetings, promotion of 10 officers of the National Highways and Motorway Police to the next ranks was approved, with the formal approval granted by the Secretary Communications and the Inspector General of Motorway Police. Among the promoted officers, 02 Deputy Superintendents of Police (BS-17) were promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police (BS-18); 01 Assistant Private Secretary and 02 Computer Operators (BS-16) were promoted to Private Secretary and Computer Programmers (BS-17) respectively; while one Superintendent (BS-16) was granted Higher Time Scale (BS-17).  The second meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee, chaired by DIG (HRM) Shahid Javed, was held at the Central Police Office, Islamabad, in which 04 Assistants (BS-15) were promoted to the post of Office Superintendent (BS-16). The promotion process was completed strictly on the basis of rules, seniority, and merit. A badge-pinning ceremony for officers promoted from Deputy Superintendent of Police to Superintendent of Police was held at the Central Police Office, Islamabad. The ceremony was graced by IG Motorway Police B.A. Nasir as the chief guest, and attended by DIGs, SSPs, other senior officers, and officials. During the ceremony, IG B.A. Nasir pinned badges on Officer Rizwan Abbasi, promoted from DSP to SP, and presented flower bouquets to other promoted officers, extending his best wishes. On the occasion, IG B.A. Nasir congratulated the officers and said that their promotion was recognition of their outstanding performance. He expressed hope that all officers would continue to perform their duties with dedication, honesty, and professionalism. The IG further stated that the good reputation of the Motorway Police is the result of courteous behavior, impartial enforcement of the law, and timely assistance to the public. He added, “Promotion in service is a milestone that brings greater responsibilities. Public service remains our top priority, and I hope these promotions will prove to be a source of pride for both the department and the country.”

GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NHMP COMPLEX WAS HELD ON THE HAZARA EXPRESSWAY (E-35).

The mother of Shaheed Sub-Inspector Shabbir Ahmed graced the occasion as the chief guest and laid the foundation stone of the project with her own hands in a touching tribute to her son’s sacrifice. The ceremony was attended by Inspector General NHMP B.A. Nasi, Additional IG North Region Muhammad Wisaal Fakhar Sultan, DIG Motorway North Zone, SSP, and other officers and officials of the Motorway Police. In his address, IG B.A. Nasir reaffirmed the department’s commitment to providing the best possible facilities, welfare measures, and a healthy working environment for Motorway Police officers and employees. Paying rich tribute to the martyrs, the IG noted that 53 officers and officials of the Motorway Police have laid down their lives in the line of duty. He further stated that the Hazara Expressway (E-35) is among the most beautiful highways in Pakistan, and it is the foremost duty of the Motorway Police to ensure a safe and comfortable travel experience for commuters and tourists alike. The ceremony concluded with the mother of Shaheed Sub-Inspector Shabbir Ahmed planting a sapling as a symbol of remembrance and honor for the fallen hero.

NHMP EXPRESS SOLIDARITY WITH THE PEOPLE OF KASHMIR ON BLACK DAY.

National Highways and Motorway Police observed October 27 as Black Day to raise their voice against the illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir by Indian forces and the ongoing atrocities committed against the Kashmiri people. On this occasion, walks, rallies, and awareness campaigns were organized across the country. Banners were displayed at toll plazas along National Highways and Motorways, while Mobile Education Units distributed awareness pamphlets among the public.

A DELEGATION OF OFFICERS FROM THE JORDAN POLICE COLLEGE PAID A VISIT TO THE NHMP HQS IN ISLAMABAD.

A delegation of police officers from the Jordan Police College, led by Police Officer Major Abdullah Raja Muhammad Alnuaimat, visited the National Highways and Motorway Police Headquarters, Islamabad. The officers of the Motorway Police warmly welcomed the Jordanian police officers. The Jordanian Police officers were given a comprehensive briefing on the operational activities, performance, training, modern traffic management systems, and ongoing initiatives aimed at promoting road safety awareness among the public. During the briefing, it was highlighted that the Motorway Police has played a remarkable role in improving traffic discipline and reducing road accidents on national highways through quality training, effective use of modern technology, transparency, community policing, and equal enforcement of the law. While addressing the delegation, Inspector General B.A. Nasir stated that the Motorway Police is a model institution of Pakistan, well-known throughout the country for being courteous, honest, and helpful. He further said that the Motorway Police is making every possible effort to promote the culture of community policing and safe travel on national highways. He added that the Motorway Police is actively working to reduce road accidents and improve travel facilities for commuters through road safety awareness campaigns, driver training programs, and modern traffic management systems. The IG also mentioned that 53 officers of the Motorway Police have laid down their lives in the line of duty, setting a great example of bravery, dedication, and commitment. At the conclusion of the visit, the Jordanian officers also visited the Command and Control Center of the Motorway Police. In the end, Inspector General B.A. Nasir presented shields to the Jordanian Police Officers.

INSPECTOR WAQAR AHMED SATTI, EMBRACED MARTYRDOM IN THE LINE OF DUTY.

The National Highways and Motorway Police deeply mourns the loss of another dedicated officer, Inspector Waqar Ahmed Satti, who embraced martyrdom in the line of duty. According to initial reports, at Sector (Murree) IMDC N-75, Beat 01, location 14 North Angoori Road, a motorcyclist driving recklessly struck Inspector Satti while he was performing his official duties. He sustained critical injuries and was immediately shifted to Akbar Niaz Hospital, Bhara Kahu, where he succumbed to his injuries. The funeral prayer of the martyr was offered at the National Highways and Motorway Police Lines Headquarters, Islamabad. Inspector General, National Highways and Motorway Police, B.A. Nasir, Additional Inspector General of Police North Region, Muhammad Wisal Fakhar Sultan, DIsG, senior officers, family member of Martyr and a large number of people attended the funeral prayer. The martyr was also presented with a guard of honor. Inspector General B.A. Nasir expressed condolences with the family of the martyr and prayed for the elevation of his ranks in the hereafter. The Motorway Police pays tribute to the invaluable services and supreme sacrifice of the martyred officer, affirming that his dedication and memory will remain forever honored. The department prays that Allah Almighty grants the martyr the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and blesses his family with patience and strength.

THE IJLAS-E-AAM OF THE IG, NHMP AT WEST ZONE

An Ijlas-e-Aam conducted by the Inspector General, National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP), BA Nasir at Zonal Office West Zone Quetta. The Additional IG, South Region Munir Ahmed Sheikh and DIG West Zone Ishafaq Ahmed were also present on the occasion.  All officers/officials West Zone attended the Ijlas-e-Aam and raised their issues & problems. The IGP NHMP heard and issued necessary directions to solve the issues & problems on a priority basis. The Ijlas-e-Aam ended up with the token of gratitude and the DIG/Zonal Commander West Zone presented souvenirs to the IGP and Additional IGP/Regional Commander NHMP South Region.
